Matilda Harper was born January 15, 1836, Wilson County, Tennessee, and died at the residence of Joseph E. And Laura Rawls, August 14, 1920.

In early life she, with her parents removed to Hamilton County Illinois where she spent the remainder of her life.  On January 18, 1852 she was married to Warner Anderson, who died in the year 1905.  To them was born one son, John Anderson, with whom she had lived for a number of years.  She was the last of her immediate family, and left no children, but left as her grand children, William H Anderson Peoria Illinois, Alexis B Anderson, and Laura B. Rawls of McLeansboro, Madeleine Mattingly of St. Louis, and Clara Ahlers of Concordia Missouri and she left one sister residing in the South....(The sister in the South was Aunt Millie Whitefield, in Waxahachie Tex.)
