Florentine Freda McCombs, 90, of Subiaco, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 in Paris. Florentine was born on April 9, 1921 in Subiaco to her parents Frank and Anna (Kreiner) Etzkorn. She was a homemaker, worked at the Coury House for many years, enjoyed volunteering her time at the Subiaco Abbey and was member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and Mothers Society.
Florentine is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Anna Etzkorn, her husband Harold McCombs, two sons, John and Bud McCombs, two grandchildren Jennifer Koch and Glen Ewing and one great granddaughter Elizabeth Koch.
Florentine is survived by five daughters, Ann Ewing and husband Larry of Dardanelle, Betty Koch and husband Basil of Paris, Mary Beshoner and husband Harry of Subiaco, Judi Strobel and husband Dennis of Little Rock and Lisa Bennett of Fort Smith, three sons, David McCombs and wife Shirley of Paris, Michael McCombs and wife Mary Alice of Subiaco and Dennis McCombs of Subiaco, one sister Willemina Classen of Portland, Oregon, one brother Ben Etzkorn of Barling, twenty two grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren.
Rosary will be at 7:45 P.M. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco officiated by Fr. Aaron Pirrera O.S.B. Burial will be at St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Heath McCombs, Ashley McCombs, Eric McCombs, Reece McCombs, Garland Floyd, Bryan Koch, Scotty McCombs, Jason McCombs and Aaron Strobel.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
