Bob was born in Saxon, Wisconsin and has resided in Joliet for most of his life. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II serving in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres.
Bob retired in 1991 from Caterpillar Tractor Co. after 25 years. He was a member of V.F.W. Stone City Post# 2199, and the American Legion Mercier-Kero Post# 371 in Saxon, Wisconsin. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandson. He was an avid Cubs, Bears and Bulls fan.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Beverly (nee Bottino) Kero. 3 children; Daniel, Robert, and Renee Kero, and one grandson, Tyler Kero. A sister; Helen (John) Trojahn, his brothers, Reynold (Shirley), and Arnold (Sue) Kero, 2 sisters-in-law; Rosalie and Nancy (late Dale) Bottino. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Emil A. and Senja J. (nee Kelto) Kero, a brother William Kero, his sisters; Eleanor (late Harold) Viviano, and Norma (late Barry) Peterson.
The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Dr. Arvind Kumar, Carol and Karen for all of the years of care and support.
Services: Saturday August 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Rodney Juell officiated.
Interment: Woodlawn Memorial Park.
