CHRISTINE CURRY
Christine Freeman Curry, 82, of Hillsboro died Monday, June 24, at a Waco hospital. She was born August 29, 1919 in Hillsboro, daughter of Benny and Gladys Jones Freeman, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She was a receptionist and clerk at Grant-Buie Hospital in Hillsboro for many years and at Barton-Hill Clinic in Whitney for several years. She was a member of Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene, Business Women’s Club and Hill Regional Hospital Auxiliary and Senior Circle. She married E. A. (Happy) Curry January 7, 1938, and he preceded her in death June 2, 1997. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Snookie Leopold, in 1962. Survivors include: two sons, Mike Curry and wife, Edna, of Schulenburg and Andy Curry of Hillsboro; one brother, Benny Freeman of Temple; one sister, Mozelle Brown Mitchell of Hillsboro; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Steve Vaughan and Rev. A. D. Bracken officiating. Burial will be at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to Church of the Nazarene, P. O. Box 572, Hillsboro 76645. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight (Thursday, June 27) at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
