Funeral services were held Saturday, January 14 for Mr. James Hitt Dacus, 82, who died at his home near Stewart, Miss., January 13. The Rev. Murff, pastor of the Kilmichael Methodist church conducted the service, and interment followed at the Milligan Springs Cemetery.
The deceased was born in Choctaw County, Miss., but has spent the greater part of his life in Montgomery County, where he has been a progressive farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy Dacus; two sons, R. H. and Fred Dacus of Stewart; four daughters, Mrs. Daisy Wray, Greenwood; Mrs. Crawford Eiland, Moorhead, and Mrs. Lettye Vernon and Mrs. Maude Garrett of Stewart; one sister, Mrs. Dixie D. Burdine of Chester, Miss.
