Mrs. Celia L. Ashton, former of Kent resident, died Tuesday in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. She had moved to live with her son, Bud of Mount Savage, Md.

Mrs. Ashton was born in West Virginia and lived in the Kent area until moving to Maryland. She was a member of Streetsboro Baptist Church. Her husband, Alfred, died in 1972.

Besides Bud, she leave six other sons, Charles L. and Mearl, both of Cuyahoga Falls, Daniel Lewis of Akron, John of Massillon, Melvin in Florida and Delvine of Youngstown; daughter Mrs. Catherine Vargo of Cuyahoga Falls: 27 grandchildren; brothers, George Grandon of Oakland, Calif. and Newton Grandon of New Matamoras, Ohio and sister, Mrs. Winnie Stoltz and Mrs. Ella Kramer, both of Akron; Mrs. Mary Thornberry of Cuyahoga Falls and sister Ada in California.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at S.C. Bissler and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Mel Grubaugh officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Strretsboro.
