Born June 23, 1905, at Moorehead, N.C., he was the son of Walter S. and Sidney Willis Eaton. He was a farmer.
Survivors include a son, Vernon Eaton of Reno, Nev., a brother, Daniel Eaton of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Dollie Gaskins of New Bern, N.C.; four half brothers, Sam Eaton of Vero Beach, Fla., Austin Eaton of Bithlow, Fla., Clifton Eaton of Temple, Tex., and Bennie Eaton of East Flat Rock, N.C.; a half sister, Mrs. Anne Renn of Williamston, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, Huntsville.
Robert (Bob) Eaton was handicapped, having suffered amputation of one leg when a vehicle ran over him when he was a young man. His wife became ill, and was institutionalized. Looking for a secluded and cheaper place to live he left NC with his 2 little sons, ending up in Spoke Plant, AR. As the population dwindled down to 1---he was that person. He was a talented man. He used to put the entire New Testament in a 2 inch square little book, and the Lord's prayer on a grain of rice. A horse hair was the "pen" he used for this.He won many contests putting the most numbers or letters in a square of various sizes.

Bob was bitten by a rabid fox. It came up on his porch and he saw it was "mad" and it ran in his house and he slammed the door. This was before telephones in Spoke Plant. so he hobbled over to our house, and my Dad went and shot the fox. He gave himself a shot in the belly every day for 30 days. I was sure impressed that he could do that. I have fond memories of Bob.
