Actor of both film and television. Goddard is best remembered for his role as, 'Lieutenant Commander Michael 'Mic' Brumby' on the television series, "JAG" from 1998 to 2001. Goddard was born on October 14, 1962, in Croyden, Surrey, England, and was a professional boxer before he got into acting. He was discovered during a light-heavyweight boxing match and appeared in several beer commercials soon afterwards. Among his many films is the newly completed film, "Pirates Of The Carribean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl" (2003), which also stars Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. His other films include, "Hollywood Vampyr" (2002), "When Billie Beat Bobby" (2001), "Gone In 60 Seconds" (2000), "Dead Man's Run" (2001), "Gut Feeling" (1999), "She's Too Tall" (1998), "Some Girl" (1998), "Legion" (1998), "Deep Rising" (1998), "First Encounter" (1997), "Assault On Devil's Island" (1997), "Dead Tides" (1997), "Yesterday's Target" (1996), "Prey Of The Jaguar" (1996), "Fast Money" (1995), "The Break" (1995), "Illegal In Blue" (1995), "Mortal Kombat" (1995), "Men Of War" (1994), and "Inside Out" (1992). Goddard was also awarded the Los Angeles Dramalogue and Los Angeles Weekly Best Performance Award for his role in the stage play, "The Cock And Bull Story" at the Fountainhead Theatre. Goddard died at his North Hollywood, California, on June 8, 2003, at the age of 40, apparently due to an overdose of drugs. His girlfriend found his body. It was thought to be a suicide at the time, and notes were found at the scene, but nothing was released to the public, just that the authorities were investigating.
