Husband of Vesta Miller (1907 - 1970)

Virgil Fugitt was born Sept. 12, 1901, departed this life Sept. 25, 1940, at the age of 39 years and 13 days. He had worked with the Springfield Newspapers. Inc.; for the past eight years. Death came suddenly from a heart attack while at his work. Survivors are his widow, Vesta; one daughter, Evadine, and one son, Bobby Dale, both of the home. Six sisters: Mrs. Lila Willoughby, Mrs. Berth Gilmore, and Mrs. Jimmy People, all of Clever, Mrs. Verna Wilson of Hurley, Mrs. Edna Gideon and Mrs. Carrie Fugitt of Springfield, Mo., and his father, Henry Fugitt of Clever, Mo., other relatives and a host of friends to mourn his departure. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Delaware Chapel conducted by Rev. Barrett of Aurora with burial there under the direction of the Wilburn Maples Funeral Home of Clever, Mo.
