Louise Goebel was born Oct. 7, 1894, in Parkston, S.D. At age 4, she came with her parents to the Foxholm area where they homesteaded. She married Patrick McKenna in 1915. They lived and farmed at Foxholm. Following her husband's death Nov. 17, 1957, she worked a year as a priest's housekeeper for the Rev. John Colgan at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Donnybrook. During the next eight years, she was housekeeper for the Rev. D.J. Becwar when he was pastor at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Minot. Since 1969, she had lived in Kenmare.
She was a member of the Catholic church altar societies at both Donnybrook and Kenmare and of the Senior Citizens at Kenmare.
Surviving: daughters, Mrs. Kathleen McFair, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Thomas (Sally) Limborg, St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Gerald (Pat) Caroline, Donnybrook; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Agnes King, Minot.
Visitation Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, and afterward at the church.
