Billie Ione Black, 71, a 68-year resident of Indio, died on Jan 7, 2001, in Rancho Mirage.
She was born on Nov. 2, 1929, to William Nicholas and Neva May Morriss Randall in Thermal. She married Carl Woody Black on March 19, 1949, in Riverside.
She was employed with GTE engineering for 30 years.
She is survived by her husband, Carl of Indio; four sons, Jonathan of Bermuda Dunes, Jeffrey of Sacramento, Robert of Palm Springs and David of Indio; four sisters, Betty Shepard of Cathedral City, Vera Alexander of Placerville, Donna Lea Sideris of Fairfield and Neva Lou Crooks of Spokane; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be a 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church, Indio.
Interment will be in Coachella Valley Cemetery, with FitzHenry Funeral Homes, Indio, in charge of arrangements.
