Mr. Williamson, Sr., 71, died Friday, August 1, 2008, in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was born June 3, 1937, in Horry County, to the late Joseph Hayes and Effie Richardson Williamson. He was also predeceased by four bothers and one sister.
Mr. Williamson Was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: sons, George (Jimmie Lynn) Lenoie Williamson. Jr. of Marion and Kelly Hayes (Susan) Williamson of Dillon; daughter, Wendy Elaine (Nelson) Melvin of Lumberton, NC; Step-daughter, Lisa (Robert) Higgins of Pikeville, NC; Step-sons, Scott Windham of Pikeville, NC and Greg (Rachel) Windham of Florence; brothers, Homer Williamson of Dillon and Shep Williamson of Latta; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren.
