Services will be today for Gertrude Culver
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Owyen Funeral home for Gertrude Culver, 79, Port Ludlow resident, who died here Monday afternoon following five days hospitalization.
Mrs. Culver was born in Dayton, Wyoming, March 10, 1889, daughter of Robert and Annie Farmer Mock. She moved by prarie schooner to the Stanley Basin, Idaho, in 1910. The family engaged in farming there before moving to Jefferson County in 1952.
She was married in 1951 to Estel E Culver.
Mrs. Culver was a member of the CongregationalChurch in Wyoming.
Survivors include her husband at Port Ludlow, three daughters, Leota Moody, Gooding, Idaho; Josephine Cole, Soda Springs, Idaho and Bertha Lowry, Shoshone, Idaho; four sons. Leslie Lanning, Astoria, Ore.; Charles R., and Albert F. Lanning, both of Hoodsport; CliffordA. Lanning, Mountain Home, Idaho; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Torkelson, Irondale; brother, Roy Mock, Billings, Montana; 23 grandchildren and 18great grandchildren.
The Rev. Harry Ring of Irondale Evangelical Free Church will conduct the funeral service. Burial will be in Shoshone, Idaho
NOTE: A Shoshone area newspaper reported her birth as May 10 which is incorrect, and the fact that she married Astel Culver. His name is spelled Estel (Culver)
