Eddie was the oldest son of Edward Ahlm and Ella Mathew Steward Ahlm. He lived on the ranch north of Wild Horse, Colorado as a young child. They also lived in Jarbidge, Nevada where his father worked in the Gold Mine. The family wintered in Burley, Idaho where his family owned a farm. He died in an airplane crash while learning how to fly. He was survived by his parents, his brother John Arthur Ahlm, his Grandma Steward, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
