She was a member of Cordova Baptist Church where she helped to prepare the Wednesday evening dinners. She was a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Bartlett.
Mrs. Nowell, the widow of J. Harvey Nowell, leaves three daughters, Louise Sparks and Gloria Mort on, both of Mmephis, and Janet Tanner of Bartlett; three sisters, Thelma Freeman of Toone, Tenn., Dorothy Hardin of Memphis and Doris Williams of Moscow, Tenn.; two brothers, Cecil Nanney of Memphis and Charles Nanney of Watson, La.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Cordova Baptist Church, Ellendale Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
