Louis Israel Cantor, of Ellington died in Hartford Hospital on Tuesday, (July 3, 2001) after a courageous struggle with a lengthy illness.
Beloved husband of Marion Cantor and loving father and father-in-law of Rabbi Debra Cantor and Jim Beede, Michael and Shari Cantor and Cindy and Stephen Maher; he doted on his eight grandchildren, Max and Penina Beede; Joshua, Sam, Ben and Jacob Cantor; and Katie and Becca Maher. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Yale, Beryl, Sol, Barbara, Bernard and Doris Cantor; and by Judi and Alan Moskowitz. Lou worked as an engineer and patent agent and was long active in Democratic politics.
