Sylvia L. Murray, age 81, of Newark, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. She was the wife of Robert Murray, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Her husband Robert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Sylvia was employed by Chrysler Corp. for 10 years and retired from Sears Roebuck Co. where she worked for 17 years. Sylvia enjoyed going to the Flea Market, Delaware Park and Atlantic City with her husband and friends after her retirement.
Born in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Margaret Hollobaugh. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jackie and Francis "Butch" Hollobaugh.
In addition to her husband, Sylvia will be dearly missed by her daughter, Patricia Murray Brouillette and her fiancé, William Hutchison; grandchildren, Tara Brouillette, William Hutchison, Jr., and Melanie Hutchison; great grandchildren, Brooke, Jayden, and David; and many other loving family members and friends.
The Murray family would like to thank the staff at Millcroft Nursing Home for their care while Sylvia was a resident.
You are invited to attend Sylvia's funeral service on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the Beeson Funeral Home of Newark, 2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702 at 12:45 pm. Family will begin to receive guests beginning at 10:45 am. Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
