Lloyd E. Davis, 66, of 1036 West Third street, died at 7:30 a.m. today at the Ottumwa hospital. A life-long resident of Ottumwa, he had been employed at the Ottumwa Box Car Loader Co. for more than 30 years.
The son of Olaf and Phene Nelson, he was born September 18, 1889, in Ottumwa. He was a member of the First Christian church, and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving are his wife, Emma; one son, Clifford Davis of Ottumwa; a granddaughter, Patty Ann Davis of Ottumwa; and a step-sister, Blanche Davis. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Guy Nelson.
The body is at the Jay funeral home pending the completion of funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for Lloyd Davis of 1036 West Third street, who died at Ottumwa hospital Tuesday morning, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Jay funeral home. The Rev. Donald H. Gill, pastor of the First Christian church, will be in charge. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery.
