Married Nellie Irene Bradley on December 26, 1900 at the home of her parents, Albert and Mary (Smith) Bradley. They were blessed with four children: Helen Mary, Elizabeth Pearle, Mabel Rose, and Roy Albert.

The family moved to Alliance, Chadron, and North Platte while the children were young. By 1910, they returned to Seward and in 1920, Leroy purchased a farm where the family finally settled.
