FILLMORE, UT - Vance Anthony Turner, age 83, passed away June 28, 2003 at the Fillmore Community Medical Center.

He was born April 15, 1920 in Kanosh, Utah to Alonzo Turner and Cora Whatcott Turner.

He served his country in the Navy during World War II and was in active duty in the Pacific for two years.

He married Emma Lee Aguirre, Sept. 20, 1942 and later divorced. He married Colleen Snyder March 26, 1955.

He worked in California for a number of years and then moved to Utah and worked for the BLM for over 30 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Sheron (Michael) VanZandt of Temecula, CA; sisters, June Gorman of Kanosh and Alice Rogers of Santa Ana, CA. Vance was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen; parents and two brothers, Phil and Bill.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Fillmore City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Southern Utah Mortuary with military rights performed by the American Legion Post 61. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2003 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fillmore Stake Center.
