Roberta "Bobby" Foster Reed Granat, 91, formerly of Warrensburg, passed away in her sleep on Aug. 24, 2011 at the home of her granddaughter in Leavenworth, Kan.

She was born on July 28, 1920, in Blodgett, Mo., the daughter of Joseph Thomas Foster and Gladys Ellis Foster Phillips, who owned the Foster's clothing store in Warrensburg.

She graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1941 with her baccalaureate degree. Then, following in her father's footsteps, she opened her own clothing store in Lexington, named Reed's where she enjoyed selling ladies clothing until she moved to Lawrence, Kan., in 1964.

In Lawrence, she taught science at West Junior High for five years before retiring and moving to Kansas City to help raise her grandchildren.

Roberta is predeceased by her sister, Mary Jo Foster Clark; first husband, Charles Gordon Reed; second husband, Petro Granat; and her niece, JoAnn Clark Cooper.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Gordon Reed; daughter, Robin Rebecca Reed; granddaughter, Brook Barr; and grandson, Jack Barr.
