Reva Thelma Hayes, age 95, of Mount Vernon, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday June 27, 2007 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. Reva was born November 9, 1911 in Mount Vernon to Samuel J. and Sarah J. (Swartz) White. She was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and Nyack College in Nyack New York. Her husband Rev. Gerald Hayes was a minister and Reva served as a deaconess and pianist with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Reva had also worked with her husband in their family owned business "The Watch Shop" on Vine Street in Mount Vernon.

She had been a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Mount Vernon since 1931.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law John L. and Marilyn Hayes of Fredericktown and three grandsons Stephen (Nancy) Hayes of Lynchburg, Virginia, Gerald L. (Tonya) Hayes of Marietta, Ohio and John M. Hayes of Mount Vernon; four great grandchildren. Besides her parents her husband Rev. Gerald C. Hayes in 1992 and her sister Clio Hess Scott preceded her in death.

Friends may call Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Saturday at 2 PM with Rev. Allen Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Brandon Cemetery.
