Royal VanTassel
Mitchell, Ind. Royal Ernest VanTassel, 88, of Mitchelle, Ind., died Thrusday (Sept. 7, 1989) in Mitchell.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mitchell Church of Christ. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Saturday at the Shasteen Funeral Home, Seventh and Wren streets n Mitchell, Ind. Burial will be at a cemetery in Mitchelll.
He was born Nov. 27, 1911, in Jewett, the son of Andrew and Mary Jobe VanTassel. He married Elizabeth McIndoo. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kay Walden and Evelyn True both of Mitchell; two sisters, Mrs. John (Theba) Higgins of Mattoon and Mrs. Austin (Thelma) Woodard of Mattoon.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Mr. VanTassel, a minister of the church of Christ, preached the memorial service for astronaut Gus Grissom
