DEATH OF ROBERT PADDOCK
The death of Robert Paddock, an old and respected citizen of Lake county, occurred at his home on the Waukegan road two miles east of Volo on Tuesday morning, Dec. 20. Mr. Paddock is widely known throughout Lake and McHenry counties, having resided in Lake county for more than thirty years. He leaves a widow, seven children and thirteen grandchildren to mourn the loss and revere his memory. He was the son of Dr. Robert Paddock of Barre, Vt. He married Nancy Stickney of Berlin, Vt., and they came west to one of the beautiful prairie farms, where he resided until called to a higher house.
Son of Dr. Robert Paddock and Lucy Backus Paddock (3rd wife of Robert). Robert was the first physician in Barre, Washington Co, VT. Dr. Paddock died and is buried in the Elmwood Cemetery in Barre. Lucy arrived in Wauconda, IL with her son, William about 1855. She is buried in the Fort Hill Cemetery.
