"Nannie" Nancy Jane Gan was the first daughter of William Carroll Gan and Sallie Ann Farmer. She was born and raised in Navarro County Texas. She met and married "Jim" James Anderson Prater on September 9, 1896 in Navarro County Texas. Jim and Nannie raised their family and died in Dawson Texas. Nannie is buried in the Dawson Cemetery.
