He was the son of the late Ned and Ruth Gramlin Birge and was a former employee of Dana Crop. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Mable Groce Birge; two daughters, Lesa (Ricky) White and Karen (Terry) Eaton, both of Glasgow; two brothers, Ralph Lee (Pat) Birge of Mount Hermond and Rondal (Wanda) Birge of Louisville; four grandchildren, Brandon (Tiffany) White, Whitney (Brandon) Norris, Kathy and Tyler Warren; two great-grandchildren, Remington White and Hunter Norris; three step grandchildren, J.P., Hayden and Keleigh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Billy Dean Birge.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at McMurtrey Funeral Home with burial to follow in the White Cemetery in Monroe County.
Visitation will begin Thursday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
