"Mr. Moak, a Yankee Hill resident, had lived in the county all his life. He was born Jan 23, 1878, on the former Martinett Ranch located about six miles from Chico. He received an education in Chico schools.
"Survivors include his wife, Nettie, of Chico; three sons, John, of Rock Crest, and Lyman and James, both of Yankee Hill; two daughters, Mrs. Oscar Carlson, of Chico, and Mrs. Mary Enos Brown, of Yankee Hill; a sister, Mrs. Mary Wakefield, of Paradise; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
"Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Paradise Chapel of the Pines. The Rev. Charles Fultz, pastor of the Paradise Christian Science Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Yankee Hill."
