Mrs. Etherton was born in Madison County and was a daughter of the late Nathan and Violet Moore Payne. She was also preceded in death by her son, Glenn Plemmons.

sisters, Lillian Wells and Lena Lundy of Leicester and Mae Suttles of Swannanoa; two brothers, Spencer Dale Payne of Asheville and Ronnie Payne of Little Rock, Ark,; four grandchildren, Marty Stamey of Beaumont, TX, Jeffrey Stamey of Dallas, TX, Kimberly Tkach of Oklahoma City, OK, and Tracy Plemmons of Greenville, TN; and six great-grandchildren.
