Nancy Ogburn “Nannie” White Byrd

Nancy Ogburn White, was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Sr & Thurza Melvina [Golightly] White, Nancy and her husband are buried within BF White's plot, at this cemetery. She received her middle name 'Nancy Ogburn' from her grand mother Nancy [Ogburne] Golightly, her grand father was David Golightly Jr. On the White side, her grand parents were Robert Sr & Mildred [Whitehead] White.

She married Theodore Henry Byrd, on Sept 21, 1856, in Hamilton Harris Co GA.

They had 10 known Children:
Charley P, Edward, Nellie L, Pauline,
Hattie O, Minnie L, Benjamin Franklin,
Augustus "Gus", M B Byrd, and Jimmie {Jennie?} Louisa Byrd Cooper.

Nancy was a talented musician she inherited her music talent from her father BF White, all of her children were musicians. She was an admire and leader in the Sacred Harp style of music, that her father is known for.

In 1920, Nancy was living with her daughter's family, Nellie (Nelly) [Byrd] Peace, Dublin Ward 2, Laurens Co., Georgia. [1920 Census provided by Annie Crenshaw].
