SUPPLY, N.C. ? Joel Eugene Brock Jr., 48, of Supply (Holden Beach), formerly of Princeton, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006 in North Carolina as a result of an automobile accident.
Born Jan. 27, 1958 in Princeton, he was the son of Eugene Brock and Betty Crotts Brock of Princeton.
Mr. Brock was a 1976 graduate of Princeton High School and a graduate of Bluefield State College. While in Princeton, he was employed by Industrial Plating and Machine, Inc. He loved golfing, fishing and Harley Davidson motorcycle riding. He was a member of Brothers of the Wheel, who always remained a part of his life. He participated in collecting Toys for Tots. He loved people and animals and never met a stranger and loved life. He also has three cats he adored, Toot, Fruit and Coal. At the time of his death, he was employed by South Atlantic Services in Wilmington, N.C., where he was a master electrician. Joel took his friendship and his relationships with people very seriously.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joel Epling Brock; and his maternal grandparents, Gladys Lane Crotts and Taylor Crotts.
In addition to his parents, survivors include the love of his life, his wife of 16 years, Debra Ann Reed Brock; his paternal grandmother, Beulah Brock of Princeton; two brothers, Dwight Brock and his wife Candie of Princeton and Mark Brock and his wife Carolyn of Flat Top; a brother-in-law, Greg Reed of Denver, N.C.; a special nephew, Logan Brock of Princeton; uncles and aunts, Mamie Frazier of Princeton, Bill and Margaret Crotts of Princeton, Raymond and Pat Crotts of Bluefield, Brenda Danner of Colorado, Lanny and Dorothy Brock of St. Simons Island, Ga., Bill and Joyce Henthorn of Dublin, Va., Joe and Pamala Wynn of Beckley and special aunt and uncle, Leona and Paul Abshire of Bluefield; and numerous cousins, including special cousins, William and Ruth Cuccaro of Athens.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2006 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Paul Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
