S. Lee Burns, 79, of Chisago City, died Sunday, May 8, 1988, at Chisago Lakes Hospital.

A memorial service was held Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lindstrom.

His professional career was spent at the University of Wisc.- Madison where he was associated with the Division of University Housing for over 40 years, including 9 years as division director.

Staff colleagues, employees, faculty, University Presidents, and students were beneficiaries of his progressive philosophy, diligent work, and wise counsel.

As one of the founders of the Association of College and University Housing Officers, he saw it grow into a thriving organization.

After retiring as Associate Professor Emeritus, he continued to serve as a consultant to the University Housing Division.

He is survived by his wife, Onetah; sister, Genevieve Huseth and husband Vern; stepson, Jack McCreery, stepdaughters. Mary Teppen and Louise Thomas; seven grandsons, two granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews
