On Thursday, March 12, occurred the death of Carl Magnus Anderson at the home of the late John Alfred Carlson some four miles northwest of this village, near Sunrise river. Deceased had reached the advanced age of 83 years, 10 months and 21 days being born April 21, 1824 in Landeryd parish, Ostergotlands LAN, Sweden.
He came to America and Chisago Lake in 1878 and has since made his home with his son, John Carlson, who died a couple of years ago. Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. Gustaf Swanson of Peoria, Illinois and 3 sisters, 2 of which are living in Sweden and one in San Francisco, California, also a number of grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday, March 16, and he was laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery, Rev. Eckman officiating. There seems to be a discrepancy in the birth year.
