Mrs. Etta Aker, who died September Sept 11 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. E. Peterson of Lacrosse, WI was laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery here following services at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lindstrom. Rev. M. A. Haker officiated at the last rites which were attended by so many friends of the deceased lady. Mrs. Aker was well known throughout this community, having been in the hotel business with her husband here operating the Peninsula House from 1901-1930 when Mr. Aker died.
Born in Minnestaka [sic - Minnewaska, Pope County, MN on April 5, 1866 she later came to St. Croix where she spent her girlhood days. In 1890 she married Charles Aker who continued in business in St. Croix until 1901 when he and his wife came to Lindstrom.
After Mr. Aker's death in 1930, Mrs. Aker moved to St. Paul where she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. F. E. Peterson who was living there at the time.
She is also survived by another daughter, Mrs. Jean Abrahamson of Minneapolis. Of late years the deceased had been living with her daughter, Mrs. Peterson at their home in Lacrosse, WI.
