Forest L. Hineline Age 91 of Rice Lake, WI, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at his home.

He was born with his twin brother, Foster on February 23, 1920 in York, North Dakota to George and Eva (Rearick) Hineline. They were 2 of 10 children who moved with their parents to Rice Lake in 1921 and lived along the Red Cedar River. A musical bunch, Hineline and his brothers formed a group called the Smokey Mountain Boys. They sang and played guitar, mandolin and banjo and even performed on the radio. As a teen, he went with a brother in late summer to the harvest fields of North Dakota, where they were paid $139 in silver dollars for 5 weeks of work. They used the money for school clothes.

After graduating from the Rice Lake High School, Forest joined the Army and served as a radio operator with the 26th Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division
Forest married Ruby Mitchell on June 16, 1946 in Stanley. Forest was then employed at the Rice Lake Creamery for 13 years. In 1959, Forest opened Hineline Oil on Knapp Street in Rice Lake, which he owned and operated for more than 30 years. Forest also drove school bus for Smith Bus Company for over 8 years. He retired at age 70 and since then has enjoyed many hobbies, especially gardening, fishing and exercising. Forest also enjoyed reading the Bible and going to Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Hineline of Rice Lake; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Ginny and George Swanson and Kristy and Lonnie Peterson all of Rice Lake; 5 grandchildren; Theresa Swanson of Roseville, MN; Julie and Chris Buergi of Rice Lake, WI; Rick and Ena Peterson of Springboro, OH; Rodney and Robin Peterson of Cameron, WI; Rachel and Marcus Thompson of Germantown, OH; 11 great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law Warren and Caryl Hineline of Bensenville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 1PM Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, Rev. Steve Svendsen officiating, with interment in the Orchard Beach Cemetery in Rice Lake, where Military Rites will be accorded by the Rice Lake Veterans Center Honor Guard. Friends may call from 11AM-1PM Saturday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals.
