Mary Dull married Peter Barndt at Freemont, Pennsylvania, May 16, 1859 and to this union six children were born. Two sons died in infancy; Reuben; the only daughter, Miss Mollie; Jacob and Peter D.
“The family came from Pennsylvania, to Kansas in 1868 and lived a year on a farm in Welda Township. They then went to Lawrence where Mr. Barndt assisted in the construction of the dam across the Kansas river, being an expert workman and contractor in heavy stone work and building. In 1874 they came back to this county, but next year went to Circleville, Ohio, where they remained until 1884, when they came back to Garnett and have since remained."
