"J. G. Hoffman, 79, Dies In His Home
John George (J. G.) Hoffman of 822 Lake St., Fort Morgan, died in his home at 8:30 a. m. today. He was 79.
Hoffman was born March 16, 1889 in Hussenbach, Russia, and came to Brush in 1903. He moved to Fort Collins the same year and then to Fort Morgan in 1912. He was married to Marie Wunsch June 22, 1923. He retired from farming in 1955.
Besides his wife, Hoffman is also survived by six daughters, Mrs. Bertha Schlegel and Mrs. Elizabeth Wilhelm, both of Kiowa, Kan., Mrs. Marie Reiber of Othello, Wash., Mrs. betty Asmus, Fort Collins, Mrs. D. Lucille Nuss of Hillrose and Mrs. Helen Stephens of Irving, Texas; three sons, Gilbert of Fort Morgan, Alan of Pasadena, Calif., and Walter of Seattle, Wash. There are also three sisters, Mrs. Alice Hettinger of Sterling, Mrs. Mollie Andrus of Denver and Mrs. Amelia Ruhl of San Pedro, Calif.; a brother, Jake of Fort Morgan; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p. m. in Christ Congregational Church with Rev. Edwin E. Huber officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cutler-Jolliffe Mortuary."
