Joseph J Blanton is the son of Samuel Overson Blanton & Armantha Skipper. He married Myrtie Mae Watts abt. 1946 in Conway SC.

LORIS - Joseph "Joe" Blanton, 71, of the Live Oak community died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at the Loris Community Hospital following an illness.
Born Dec. 5, 1925, in Loris, he was the son of the late Samuel O. Blanton and Matha Skipper Blanton.
Mr. Blanton was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was the owner and operator of the Live Oak Grocery and a retired farmer.
He was the former superintendent of Sunday school and an adult Sunday school teacher at the Live Oak Baptist Church, where he was a member.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtie Watts Blanton; two sons, Jimmy Blanton and Mark Blanton, both of Loris; two daughters, Wanda Hodge of Loris and Beverly Ray of Galivants Ferry; five brothers, Bill Blanton of Smithfield, Va., and Leroy Sarvis, J.P. Blanton, Mack Blanton and Jack Blanton, all of Loris; two sisters, Matha Causey of Loris and Louise Doyle of Marion; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Hardwick Funeral Home from 7-9 tonight.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Live Oak Baptist Church. Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery.
