In 1912 Mrs. Verhey came to Brush for her health, joining the Presbyterian church here. About three years ago, she entered a sanatorium in Denver, remaining there until last fall when she went to La Junta. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Chas. Loveless of La Porte City, Iowa.
The body of Mrs. W.M Verhey who died in La Junta Colorado March 12 arrived in Brush Thursday evening and was buried Sunday in the Brush cemetery. Mrs. Verhey was in Des Moins [sic] Iowa but she was compelled to come to Colorado a number of years ago on account of being inflicted with Tuberculosis. She spent several years at the Eben Ezer Sanatorium in Brush. While living here a son was accidentally shot and killed while hunting near here. The body of the son was buried in the rush [sic] cemetery. Later Mrs. Verhey moved to La Junta where her death occurred as noted above.
