(OPELIKA) Charlie Browning, 85, of Opelika died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Care Center of Opelika.
Services were Thursday, March 31, at 2 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Jimmy Blackmon officiating. Burial followed at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Browning is survived by his wife, Gradie Bell Browning; two sons, Charles W. Browning of Augusta, Ga., and Donnie Browning of Opelika; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Born March 13, 1920, in Randolph County, Mr. Browning was the son of the late Thomas Newton Browning and Itura Adamason Browning. He was a veteran having served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Browning was the owner and operator of Browning Appliance Company. He attended Shawmut Church of the Nazarene.
