Veteran of Company I, 7th Pennsylvania Reserves (later a.k.a. 36th Pennsylvania Infantry). Enlisted on 21 Aug 1863 at Alexandria, VA, for 3 years. Mustered in on 31 Aug 1863. Survived Andersonville Confederate POW camp.

'The Shrivers – Under Two Flags' by David Lovelace Shriver [via the Shriver homestead of 'Union Mills' Westminster, MD, at unionmills.org] on pp.15, 22-24, 45.
Also in 'Pastime – Life & Love on the Homefront During the Civil War, 1861-1865' on pp.110, 150, 158, 171-172, 266 (available via Union Mills).
In spite of no personal name index in the book, he is also likely to be mentioned in 'History of the Shriver Family and Their Connections 1684-1888' by the Rev. Samuel S Shriver (aka 'The Green Book' at unionmills.org).
