Capt. Clyde E. Braden, 75, former Parkersburg resident, died Thursday, Oct. 31, at Plantation Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Born in Ritchie County, he was a son of the late George W. and Mary Catherine Deem Braden. He was a retired 32-year employee of the U.S. Treasury Department's Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Bureau in Charleston. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Lodge No. 3, AF & AM, the Methodist Church and several Charleston organizations, including American Legion Post 36, a Kentucky Colonel, Scottish Rite Bodies and Beni Kedem Temple. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nelle G. Braden; one son, William W. Braden, Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. J.R. Hollahan, Coral Gables, Fla.; one brother, William Braden, Eldorado, Kan.; five sisters, Mrs. A.A. Fry, Hutchinson, Kan., Mrs. Ralph Roberts, Elizabeth, W.Va., Mrs. S.S. Sloter, Mrs. C.A. Junker and Mrs. W. G. Clayton, all of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla; and three grandchildren. Graveside services were held Monday afternoon at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Samuel Harford officiating. Leavitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
