Victor Lee Montgomery, of Lorena, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Kindred Fort Worth Southwest. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Waco Memorial Park with Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.

Victor was born in Waco, Texas. He graduated from Midway High School in 1978, and was an honorary deputized U.S. Marshall. Victor was a true cowboy who worked hard all his life, enjoyed the simple things and lived the same way. He was a man of many talents who loved to barbecue, and had a great sense of humor, quick wit, and charm.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Kent Montgomery; maternal grandparents, Victor and Lidma Hanus; step-sisters, Teresa Dawn Wingo and Jena Leigh Hammond; and special aunt, "Aunt Bea".

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Jane and step-father, Danny Lee Hammond, of Woodway; sister, Lara Gaines Hammond, of Morgan's Point; brothers, Michael Adrian Hammond, of Austin, and Charles Otilla Montgomery III and wife, Tonya, of Groesbeck; step-brother, Mark Hammond and wife, Kathy, of Friendswood, Texas; best friend, Bo, his loving black lab; an uncle, Mike Montgomery, of Waco; niece, Jena Hammond; nephews, Zack and Eric Hammond, Austin and Colton Montgomery, and Brandon Powell; and many other loving family and friends.
