FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. COLLINS HELD ON SATURDAY
Funeral services for MRS. EVELYN E. COLLINS, R1 Hastings, who died at a Grand Rapids Osteopathic hospital at 10 p.m. Wednesday of last week, were held at 1:30 Saturday at the Leonard Funeral Home.
The Rev. Floyd Sanders of Middleville officiated and burial was in the Irving township cemetery.
Mrs. Collins had been hospitalized one day prior to her death.
She was born in Lowell on Aug. 31, 1887, the daughter of DAVID and MARTHA (WATERMAN) MILLER. She spent her childhood in Lowell and later moved to Battle Creek where she married WILLIAM CARL. He died in 1928. In 1929 she married FORREST COLLINS. Following their marriage they lived near Lake Odessa and Woodland and moved to their home in Irving in 1942.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, MRS. VIVERNE (BURIA) JARSTFER, R3 Middleville; a son, MERLE CARL, Decatur; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and a brother, FRED E. MILLER, Battle Creek.
