Bonnie Jean Aspenson, 81, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire surrounded by her family after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Bonnie was born on November 13, 1929 to Ellsworth and Merle (Benson) Berg in Libertypole, WI.
Bonnie married Laverne Aspenson on November 5, 1949 in La Crosse, WI. She was a devoted mother who spent her life raising her family.
Bonnie enjoyed many activities such as golfing and bowling. She was a wonderful cook and home decorator. Bonnie also enjoyed spending time and traveling with her family.
Bonnie is survived by her three daughters; Nancy (Charles) Helfenstein of Eau Claire, Peggy Aspenson of Eau Claire, and Dawn (Michael) Kupka of Madison, WI; three sisters, Marlene (Earl) Reppert of Eau Claire, Joann (Don) Anderson of Florida, and Linda Pralle of Arizona; one brother, Daniel Berg of Onalaska; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Laverne on August 18, 2010; two brothers; and one sister.
The funeral service for Bonnie will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Kurt Jacobson officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 AM up until the time of service at the church. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family would appreciate memorials being made to Trinity Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
The family would also like to sincerely thank the staff at Mayo Clinic Health System for all the comfort and care given to Bonnie during her illness.
