AMERICAN FALLS—Mrs. Courtney Wylene Barnes, 60, American Falls, died today at Bannock Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was born Sep. 5, 1900, in Palmyra, Ill., a daughter of Fannie Thompson Dyer and Alonzo Sherman Dyer.
She was married to William Raymond Barnes May 21, 1941, in Middleton. She spent her early years in Minnesota, came to Idaho in 1915 and lived on a farm near Caldwell. She attended Link's Business College in Boise and worked for a furniture company in Caldwell for several years.
She also worked for the J. R. Simplot Co. near Wilder for two years.
They moved to American Falls in 1950. Mr. Barnes died in 1951.
Mrs. Barnes was a member of the Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include a brother, Curt Dyer, American Falls, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church with the Rev. Lewis Gray officiating. Davis Mortuary will be in charge of graveside services in Middleton Monday at 10:30 a.m.

Her parents were Alonzo Sherman Dyer & Fanny Thompson, who were from Greene County, Illinois. But migrated to Middleton in 1920's, with four children; Vern C., Wylene Courtney, Curtman Yale, & Cecil D. "Piert" Dyer. Her parents are also buried in Middleton Cemetery: Sherman & Fanny Dyer. She married William Raymond Barnes, 29 May 1921, Canyon County, Idaho. He is buried with military stone 28 Feb. 1952, in Morris Hill Cemetery, Boise, Ada County, Idaho.
