Mrs. Stella M. Sword, 88, died at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 11, at the Paintsville Clinic following an illness of two days.
She was born in Martin County, December 12, 1875, a daughter of Wes and Mary Cassady Maynard.
Mrs. Sword had been a resident of Paintsville for eighteen months and was a member of the Christian Science faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Sword, October 22, 1953.
Survivors include one son, Lon W. Sword, Pikeville; two daughters, Mrs. Nell Wiser and Mrs. Rissie Vaughan, both of Paintsville.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
