US Congressman. He was a United States Representative from the State of Maryland. He served as a Colonel in the United States Army during the War of 1812. Elected to represent Maryland's 4th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1823 to 1825. He also served as a Member of the Maryland State Senate in 1837, and as a Member of the Maryland State House of Delegates from 1852 to 1853.
