COURIER-JOURNAL OBITUARY - 08/22/2011 - CARMAN, LESLIE C. "BUDDY," of Louisville, formerly of Buffalo, KY, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Meadowview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Louisville. He was a member of the Hurstbourne Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean conflict, a Kentucky Colonel and a mason. He was a salesman for E. S. Ferrill and Son; co-owner, manager and president of C & C Hardware in Buffalo for 18 years. He was a partner in Independent Seed and Wire in Louisville and also served on the board of directors and was a consultant for the company. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Robin Lynn Carman; his parents, W.D. and Ella Vest Carman; a brother, Otis L. Carman; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Godbey Carman. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Arlene Jones Carman; a nephew, Stuart Carman of Liberty; a niece, Teena Carman (Ken) Coffman, of Middleburg; a great-niece, Sarah Louise Coffman, of Middleburg and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, KY, with Dr. Michael O'Neal and Dr. Wayne Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery, near Buffalo. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association , PO Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693.
