ANGELINA F "LENA" LOBIONDO

Angelina F. "Lena" LoBiondo (nee Sparacio), matriarch of the LoBiondo family, died peacefully at her Rosenhayn home at the age of 102 years and 8 months on Tuesday morning, July 26, 2011.

The widow of Frank LoBiondo Sr., who died in November of 2000, Mr. and Mrs. LoBiondo had been married for 72 years at his death. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late Gaspare and Jennie (nee Chinnici) Sparacio.

Prior to her marriage she worked briefly as a seamstress and spent her life in total devotion to her family and her Catholic faith.

She was a member of The Parish of Holy Cross/St. Mary's RC Church in Rosenhayn and until the past few months attended daily Mass. A longtime member of the church's Altar and Rosary Society, she was also a member of the Sodality of the church.

Mrs. LoBiondo loved working in her flower garden and also enjoyed growing vegetables.

She is survived by three sons, George A. LoBiondo of Vineland, Rev. Gasper F. LoBiondo, S.J., Director of the Woodstock Theological Center at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and Congressman Frank A. LoBiondo and his wife, Tina Ercole LoBiondo of Ventnor; seven grandchildren, Maria LoBiondo (Charles Stile), Sharon Lesins (Janis) George P. LoBiondo (Fran), Michael F. LoBiondo (Annemary), Robert A. LoBiondo, Adina LoBiondo and Amy Biso (Joseph); 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Joseph V. Sparacio of Rosenhayn; one sister-in-law, Mary Sparacio of Rosenhayn; one brother-in-law, Anthony LoBiondo of Rosenhayn and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Marion LoBiondo, and three brothers, Samuel, Anthony and Nathan Sparacio.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. LoBiondo's Funeral Liturgy at The Parish of the Holy Cross/St. Mary's RC Church, Morton Avenue in Rosenhayn on Thursday morning August 4th at 11 o'clock.

Friends will be received at the church Wednesday evening August 3rd from 6 until 8 and also on Thursday morning from 9 until 10:45 prior to the Funeral Liturgy.

The interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Rosenhayn.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to The Parish of Holy Cross/St. Mary's RC Church, c/o 46 Central Avenue, Bridgeton, NJ 08302 or to the Woodstock Theological Center, P.O. Box 571137, Washington, DC 20057.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the FREITAG FUNERAL HOME of Bridgeton.
