Carol Anna Wiese - Age 87, of Mobile, AL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at her home in west Mobile. She was born November 4, 1923, in Brooklyn, NY to parents, Herbert and Anna Louv. She was a Registered Nurse for 37 years, graduating from Englewood Hospital Nursing School, New Jersey, in 1945. She was a veteran of World War II and served as a lieutenant in the Nursing Corps in Europe. Her name is listed in the Women in Military Service for America Memorial, located in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Wiese was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars along with her husband. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vincent John Wiese. She is survived by her brother, Herbert Theodore (Barbara) Louv of Santa Cruz, CA; her three children, Susan Josephine (Byron) Cobb of Mobile, AL, Paul Vincent Wiese of Fairview, AL and Betty Ann (Steve) Sofka of Mobile, AL, who gave such personal loving comfort and care until the end. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Julie Sharp of Dallas, TX and Patty Sharp, D.D.S. and her husband, Eugene Haung, M.D of Sandusky, OH; and her two great-grandchildren, Austin and Serena, and all who loved her. She was a member of Overlook Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir. She is remembered as loving to travel with her husband in their white Chevy Cargo van at a moment's notice, visiting almost every state in the Union, both being inseparable in life. Special thanks go to all who shared her life. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at 12 Noon. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens with Military Honors rendered by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
